How Inspire Fitness Northwest is Transforming Fitness in Liverpool Schools
When I joined Inspire Fitness Northwest, I was excited to help schools, care homes, and organisations across Liverpool achieve something incredible—supporting people’s physical and mental well-being through tailored fitness sessions. Peter Dogun and Carl Atkinson, the passionate instructors behind Inspire Fitness Northwest, brought me in to take their mission to the next level.
Why Inspire Fitness Northwest is Making a Difference
In a world where physical activity and mental well-being are more important than ever, Peter and Carl recognised the need to bridge the gap between fitness and accessibility. They wanted to do more than just offer free community classes at Halewood Youth Community Centre—they wanted to inspire meaningful change across Liverpool’s schools and care homes.
This is where I came in. My role is to help expand their reach and showcase the unique value of their fitness programmes.
What They Brought Me in For
1. Reaching Local Schools
Inspire Fitness Northwest wanted to work more closely with schools, particularly targeting:
• Year 5/6 students: Preparing them for the challenges of transitioning to secondary school.
• Year 7/8 students: Building resilience, confidence, and teamwork during key developmental years.
My job?
• Craft compelling outreach to school administrators and decision-makers.
• Offer free taster sessions to demonstrate the value of Inspire Fitness Northwest’s programmes.
• Follow up to build long-term partnerships.
2. Supporting Care Homes and SEN Groups
Peter and Carl have a heart for working with care homes and additional needs groups, tailoring fitness sessions that:
• Include gentle mobility exercises, light boxing pad work, and relaxation techniques.
• Focus on social interaction, mental well-being, and making fitness accessible to all.
My goal is to bring these partnerships to life by connecting with care home managers and SEN coordinators across Liverpool and showing them how Inspire Fitness Northwest can make a difference.
3. Creating Engaging Content
To make Inspire Fitness Northwest stand out, I’ve been working on:
• Building a content calendar for their social media platforms.
• Capturing the energy and impact of their fitness sessions through videos, testimonials, and reels.
• Sharing their story and mission with their audience to drive engagement and grow their reach.
The Impact We’re Making Together
Since I started working with Peter and Carl, we’ve:
• Secured opportunities for free taster sessions at local schools.
• Built stronger connections with care homes and SEN groups in the area.
• Seen growing engagement on social media, thanks to consistent and high-quality content.
Inspire Fitness Northwest is proving that fitness is more than just exercise—it’s a way to build communities, inspire confidence, and create lasting change.
Looking Ahead
As we head into 2025, my focus is on scaling these efforts, forging new partnerships, and helping Inspire Fitness Northwest continue to be a driving force for positive change in Liverpool and beyond.
If you’re a head of a school, a manager of a care home, or organisation looking to bring fresh energy and focus to your community, I’d love to hear from you. Together, we can make a difference.
